This project is an intimate exploration of my hometown, and at its heart, a tender portrait of my grandmother.

Shandong, my birthplace, cradled my earliest years. My grandparents remain the most profound figures in my memories.

In early 2024, I returned home for Chinese New Year, capturing photographs of my grandmother as a timeless keepsake. I knew of her youthful love for photography and, on that day, she wore a dress my grandfather had once lovingly chosen for her.

Returning home again in July 2024, I sought to cherish every moment with my grandmother before my departure overseas. The northern summer was arid and scorching, and her legs seemed to carry less strength than when I last saw her in January. So I decided to document it through photographs.
